The Hoffman Process
I attended the Hoffman Process in June of 2021 and it truly is life-changing. The process gives actual tools that can be used to address patterns that are holding us back in one way or another. I have also attended the Hoffman Couples weekend and it provided amazing tools for couples (both partners must be process grads to attend) and also the Q2 program that picks up where the process left off. The reason this is first on my list of personal growth resources is because that’s where it belongs. The Hoffman Process is a gift to yourself. And BTW - if you can’t afford the cost of the process but truly want to go there are scholarships available so that anyone who truly wants to change can attend.

The Modern Elder Academy
My wife/partner, Anna, and I went to an MEA workshop in Baja, Mexico focused on finding our purpose. Sounds simple enough - but by the time the workshop was over we had made the decisions to:
Sell the home we had not yet quite finished building in Cleveland, OH
Move to San Francisco
Change the trajectory of our advisory business
Anna is going back to school to earn a degree in Psychology with a focus on Drama and Improv therapy
So if you’re asking, “Do people make changes after attending an MEA workshop” the answer should be pretty clear. (Or you are possibly asking - are Mike and Anna insane - which the jury is still out on)
MEA is an amazing place and MEA empowers people to face and navigate life transitions that might be tough—like divorce, career shifts, and empty nesting. But the curriculum doesn’t just touch on the serious stuff—it can inspire renewed energy and new experiences. Students cultivate creativity and rediscover play. They build the confidence to try a new hobby or return to an old passion project. Students go deep within themselves and collect meaningful outside perspectives. They learn how to live in the present while also defining the legacy they want to leave behind. The MEA experience doesn’t end when courses are over. MEA alumni use their renewed spirit to continue to live midlife to the fullest—among a community of devoted mentors and new lifelong friends.
